Hello! My name is Conchita and I am a 3rd year medical student. I am originally from Spain, but moved to Texas when I was 14 years old. I graduated in 2021 from the University of Chicago with a double degree in Chemistry and Psychology and I am very excited to be a Translation Committee Co-Chair again this year!

SHIRLEY MARINO LEE
Hello! My name is Shirley, and I am a third year medical student. I grew up in Mexico, but I have called Houston home for half of my life. I studied Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins prior to medical school. In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants and coffee shops around Dallas. I am very excited to be one of the Translation Committee Co-Chairs for my third year with United to Serve!
Welcome & Registration
CAROLINA MARTINEZ-FERNANDEZ
Hello! I’m Carol and I’m a third year medical student. I am so excited to be back as one of the Welcome & Registration Committee Co-Chairs. I am incredibly excited to connect with the local and underserved community here in Dallas and maybe see some familiar faces from last year! Outside of school, I love trying out recipes from all around the world, reading fantasy and biographies, and finding new music.

LUCERO GRIMALDO
Hi! I’m Lucero Grimaldo, a second-year medical student and a proud first-generation Mexican-American from Houston, Texas. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Texas A&M, and I am excited to make my second year in UTS another fantastic one!


Health Fair
ABBY CLARK
Abby Clark is a third-year medical student, and excited to be returning for her third-year of United to Serve! She loves grabbing coffee with friends, watching and cheering for Alabama football (roll tide!), and working out at OrangeTheory Fitness. This year she will be serving as a Health Fair Committee Chair and can’t wait to help make an impact on the Dallas community.

ABIGAIL JENKINS
Hello! My name is Abigail, and I am a third-year medical student. I am the Health Fair Senior Advisor this year. This is my third year volunteering for United to Serve. Last year, I served as a Health Fair Co-Chair. I graduated from Vassar College in 2022 with a degree in Neuroscience and Mathematics. In my free time, I enjoy working out, spending time with family and friends, playing with my dogs, and listening to music. I am so excited to be a part of Carnival de Salud this year!

AFEEFAH KHAZI-SYED
Afeefah is a fourth-year medical student who has been with UTS for two years and is now serving as the Health Fair Education committee chair. She was born and raised in Arlington, TX and studied biological engineering and urban studies at MIT. When she’s not busy in the hospital, you can find Afeefah sitting at a local coffee shop, exploring new restaurants, and searching for free workout classes.

DAVID CAO
Hi! My name is David and I’m one of the chairs for the screenings section of the health fair. I’m from Houston, TX and graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in biophysics. In my free time I like climbing, pickleball, running (not really my friend makes me), and Instagram reels. I’m excited to be a part of United to Serve!

HALEY BROWN
Haley Brown is currently a second year medical student who is serving as one of the co-chairs for the health fair. She attended UT Austin for undergrad and majored in Biology and Psychology. In her free time, Haley enjoys being with friends, reading, weightlifting, and playing volleyball. This is her second year with UTS, and she is looking forward to making this another amazing year!

JENNIE HOCKING
Jennie is a third-year medical student from Kansas. Prior to medical school she worked as a physician assistant at both UT Southwestern and Parkland. This is her third year being involved with United To Serve. She is excited to return for her second year as suture clinic chair and to help the design committee make this year’s event “The fairest of them all.”

MOHAMMAD KHAN
Mohammad Khan is currently a third year medical student who is serving as one of the co-chairs for health fair screenings. He attended Texas A&M for undergrad and majored in Biomedical Sciences. In his free time, Mohammad enjoys rock climbing, weightlifting, and playing tennis. This is his third year with UTS, and he is looking forward to making this year better than ever before!

SAMEER RAJESH
Sameer Rajesh is an MS2 at UT Southwestern. He grew up in Sugar Land, TX and graduated from UC Berkeley. He is usually in the student center playing pool. This will be his 1st year on the health fair committee and he is excited to serve the Dallas community again this year.

SOPHIE LIU
Sophie Liu is a second-year medical student and one of the co-chairs for this year’s Health Fair at Carnaval de Salud. She grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from UT Austin with a degree in Biochemistry. In her free time, she loves to make art, play video games, and chat with family and friends. This is her second year with United to Serve, and she is excited to serve her community for another year!

JOY WANG
Joy Wang is a fourth-year medical student and is excited to be your lead photographer. Joy grew up in Alabama before finding her way to Texas, where she got her degree in History and Kinesiology at Rice University in Houston. You will most likely find her trying new restaurants in Carrollton, doing a classpass workout with her friends, or playing with her foster dogs. This is her second year volunteering for United to Serve. Joy is extremely excited to capture the magic of the 2025 United to Serve Carnaval de Salud.

TRICIA POST
Tricia Post is a second year medical student at UTSW who is excited to serve as one of the Social Media Chairs for United to Serve. Surprisingly, Tricia isn’t personally very active on social media, but loves taking pictures of food, the places she travels, and her dog, Whiskey. She is originally from Lima, Peru, but moved around due to her dad’s job in the Marine Corps, growing an interested in public and global health. She is excited continue to serve the Dallas community through United to Serve!

TENZIN PALKYI
Tenzin is a MS4 who will be serving as the Chair of the Website Committee for this coming year. She is originally from Houston, TX and graduated from UT Austin with degrees in biology and psychology. In her free time she loves playing golf, exploring the Dallas food scene, watching TV shows, and spending time with friends. This is her third year with UTS and she’s looking forward to connecting with the community again!

ANNA MORIARTY
Hi everyone! My name is Anna, and I am a third year medical student. In my free time, you can find me reading, roller skating, or hanging out with my cats. This is my third year volunteering with United to Serve, and my first year as the Graphic Design Chair. I’m so excited for another great year of Carnaval de Salud!

ANUHYA KOTTA
Anuhya Kotta is currently a third year medical student at UTSW. She loves to paint, crochet, and read whenever she has free time to spend. She went to Texas A&M for her undergraduate years and graduated with a degree in Nutrition. She has been a member of the UTS Design Committee since her first year here, and is excited to be a co-chair for the first time this year and completely transform the school alongside her team!

JESSICA DAE
Jessica Dae is a second year medical student at UTSW from Sugar Land, Texas. She graduated from UT Austin (Hook ‘em!) with a degree in neuroscience. In her free time, she loves to read, do crafts, or do anything outdoors. She was an event design junior chair last year, and she is super excited to be one of your event design co-chairs this year!

MEHUL MITTAL
Mehul is a third-year medical student who will be serving as Volunteer Chair this upcoming year. Mehul is originally from Ashburn, VA and completed majors in Finance and Business Honors at UT Austin. In his free time, he enjoys working out, watching movies, and trying new restaurants. This is Mehul’s third year working as Volunteer Chair, and he looks forward to working alongside the United to Serve team!
SAHEJ BHATIA
Sahej Bhatia is an MS2 who is serving as your volunteer co-chair this year. He is from Dallas, TX and graduated from Duke in 2023 with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. In his free time he enjoys playing the cello and piano and hiking or doing anything else outdoors. This will be his second year with United to Serve as he looks forward to the remarkable year ahead.

Science Zone
ALEXANDRA COLÓN
Alex Colón is a second-year medical student from Houston, Texas. She attended Princeton University for undergrad where she majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. In her free time, she likes reading, watching Survivor, and playing volleyball and pickleball. She’s excited to be back for a second year with United to Serve, this time as a co-chair for the Science Zone!

EMILY BUCHANAN
Emily is a second year medical student. She grew up in Irving, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas where she majored in Chemistry and Biology. In her free time, Emily loves swimming, gardening, and spending time with her three sisters. Emily is very excited to be a part of United to Serve this year, serving as a co-chair in the Science Zone where last year she served as the junior chair.

JASON GUO
Hi! My name is Jason Guo, and I am a third year medical student. I’m originally from Philadelphia, PA but grew up mostly in Mississippi. I graduated in 2021 from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I’m excited to be the Science Zone Senior Advisor this year after greatly enjoying being part of Science Zone as a Co-Chair last year!

SHAWN HUANG
Hi, I’m Shawn Huang, a third-year MD/PhD student at UTSW. I’m originally from Taiwan, but I grew up here in Dallas, Texas. I graduated from UT Austin with a degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2020. In my free time, I enjoy playing badminton and pickleball, reading sci-fi novels, and spending time with friends and family. I’m excited to be one of the Science Zone co-chairs this year!


Games
HOLLI BROWN
Holli Brown is a third year medical student at UTSW. She loves to bake, cook dinner, and workout at OrangeTheory in her free time! She went to Baylor for undergrad, and loves to do anything outside! She has been a part of the games committee for 3 years now, and this is her second year as a co-chair (YAY GAMES)! She is so excited to hangout with her friends outside and create fun new games for everyone to play!

POOJA KUMAR
Pooja Kumar is a fourth-year medical student and is thrilled to return as one of the Games Co-Chairs this year! She is originally from Houston, TX, but graduated from UT Dallas with a degree in neuroscience. In her free time, she loves to sing, crochet, explore new coffee shops, and hunt for free workout classes. This is her third year with United to Serve, and she is looking forward to bringing the community together for yet another spectacular event!

GEORGIA ZEPEDA
Georgia Zepeda is a second-year medical student, and she is serving as one of your Arts & Crafts committee co-chairs this year. Georgia is from the the Woodlands, TX area and completed a Public Health major at Texas A&M in College Station, TX. In her free time, she enjoys camping, art, and game nights with friends. She can’t wait to get people excited about arts & crafts.

KATHY TRAN
Kathy Tran is a second-year medical student, and she is serving as one of your Arts & Crafts committee co-chairs again this year. Kathy is from the Dallas area and completed a Healthcare Administration major at Austin College in Sherman, TX. In her free time, she enjoys painting, playing tennis, and spending time with friends. She is excited to help create opportunities for everyone to express their creativity at the fair!


AVID
CINDY NGO
Cindy Ngo is a third-year medical student, and she is serving as one of your AVID Co-Chairs! Cindy is a Dallas native who grew up in Plano, Texas before attending UT Dallas and graduating with a BS in Biology in May 2022. In her free time, she loves to hike, camp, and watch the Mavs/Cowboys. She is so excited to mentor students in the community and help them prepare for college and beyond!

MARGARET VO
Margaret Vo is a third-year medical student serving as one of your AVID Co-Chairs! Margaret studied biology and english at Texas Christian University. In her free time, she enjoys pacing around her apartment, eating Jimmy Fallon ice cream, and sniffing candles. She’s super excited to work with young students in the community and stoke their interest in medical education!
Healthy Living
TEJA DIEJOMAOH
Tega Diejomaoh is a second year medical student serving as the chair for Healthy Living. Tega attended the University of Notre Dame for undergraduate studies where he majored in Science Business. Tega enjoys playing and watching sports in his free time, including basketball, soccer, pickleball and football. He also enjoys cooking and watching television with friends. This is his second year as a part of United to Serve, and he looks forward to making an impact!


Clinical Nutrition
BILLYE SILANDER
Billye Silander is a second-year Clinical Nutrition student in the School of Health Professions at UTSW, where she is completing her final year of her Master’s program and Dietetic Internship. After graduation, she aims to specialize as a lactation consultant and maternal dietitian. Outside of her studies, Billye enjoys cooking, exploring nature, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and her rescue Pitbull, Heffner. She is thrilled to serve as the Clinical Nutrition Chair with United to Serve!

GRACIE TILLMAN
Gracie Tillman received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University where she studied Nutrition Sciences and Child and Family Studies.She is a first-year Clinical Nutrition Student in the School of Health Professions at UTSW, where she is completing her Master’s and Dietetic Internship. After graduation she aspires to be a dietitian working with the pediatric population and hopes to specialize in eating disorder treatment. In her free time, Gracie enjoys walking the Katy Trail with friends, reading, and wakeboarding. She is beyond excited to be a part of United to Serve!

VERONICA VENT
Veronica Vent is a first-year Clinical Nutrition student at UTSW, where she is completing her Master’s degree and Dietetic Internship. She studied nutrition and dietetics at Texas Woman’s University. In her free time, Veronica enjoys running, being in nature with her dog, Milo, and spending quality time with friends and family. She is thrilled to be a part of United to Serve!
Market Center
HANNAH SHEARD
Hannah is a third-year medical student serving as the Market Center co-chair! She graduated from SMU with majors in Biology and Psychology. This is her third year working with United to Serve, and she is so excited to help put on this amazing event!

TYLER BATES
Tyler Bates is an MS3 at UT Southwestern. He grew up in Elliott, TX and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors degree in Biology. He likes to spend his free time reading history books, baking, and gardening. This will be his 3rd year as the Market Center Chair and is ecstatic to serve his Dallas neighbors once more.


Donations & Prizes
AVERY PENNYWELL
Avery is a second-year medical student from Dallas serving as one of the “Donations and Prizes” co-chairs. Last year, he served as a “Games” committee member. He is a graduate of SMU majoring in finance and biology. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports (tennis and basketball), finding breakfast and brunch spots, and watching his younger brothers play baseball. He looks forward to engaging and serving the community through the Carnival de Salud!

GRANT FLINDT
Grant Flindt is a third-year medical student from Seattle, WA who has enjoyed being on the UTS games committee during previous years. This year, he is serving as the “Donations and Prizes” co-chair for the first time. During his undergraduate education, Grant studied Biochemistry and Geriatrics at BYU. He enjoys spending his free time going on walks with his wife, Meg, and 5-month-old daughter, June.

ABRAR MAMUN
Abrar Mamun is an MS2 at UT Southwestern who grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Rice University in Houston, where he spent a lot of his free time playing basketball, skateboarding, and trying diverse cuisine with his friends. He was a Junior Chair for the Public Relations committee last year, and he’s super excited to continue outreach efforts in the community as a Chair this year!

SUMAN VADLAMANI
Suman Vadlamani is a fourth year medical student, and is returning for her third year of being involved with United to Serve, serving this year as the chair of community and publicity.
