CONCHITA DE BUSTAMANTE

Hello! My name is Conchita and I am a first year medical student. I am originally from Spain but moved to Texas when I was 14 years old. I graduated in 2021 from the University of Chicago with a double degree in Chemistry and Psychology and I am very excited to be one of the Translation Committee Co-Chairs this year.

SHIRLEY MARINO LEE

Hello! My name is Shirley, and I am a first year medical student. I am originally from Mexico but moved to Houston when I was 11 years old. I graduated from Johns Hopkins in 2022 with a degree in Neuroscience, and I am excited to be a part of this year’s fair as one of the Translation Committee Co-Chairs!

ASHLEY CIOSEK

Hi All! My name’s Ashley. I’m a 4th year medical student, and I’m excited to help be part of the team that brings back Carnival de Salud this year!! My hobbies include kickboxing, watching comedies, listening to any form of music, being outside, and traveling on a low budget. Can’t wait to bring back an in-person event this year so that UT Southwestern can connect with our awesome community yet again.

CAROLINA MARTINEZ-FERNANDEZ

Hello! I’m Carol and I’m a first year medical student. I am so excited to be one of the Welcome & Registration Committee Co-Chairs. I’ve lived in The Woodlands for the past 6 years but I am originally from Cuba so I am incredibly excited to connect with the local and underserved community here in Dallas. Outside of school, I love trying out recipes from all around the world, reading fantasy and biographies, and finding new music.

Health Fair

ALEX NAJJAR

Alex is a second-year medical student, and he will be one of your Health Fair Co-Chairs this year. He’s been in the Dallas area his entire life and graduated from UT Dallas in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time with friends and family, and taking an hour to find something to watch on Netflix. He’s so excited to be a part of our return to an in-person Carnival de Salud!

CHARLOTTE GREIF

Charlotte is a fourth-year medical student at UT Southwestern applying into Dermatology. She is excited to serve as the Health Fair Screening Co-Chair. In her free time, she loves playing tennis and soccer, finding new coffee spots around town, and playing with her Old English Sheepdogs.

COURTNEY NEWMAN

Hi all, my name is Courtney Newman and I am a 4th year medical student applying into Obstetrics & Gynecology. This is my third year volunteering for United to Serve and I am looking forward to serving as the Health Fair Education Chair. I have previously served as a Coordinator for the Cervical Cancer and Pregnancy Booths and helped upload content for our virtual fair in 2021. Outside of medical school, I like spending time with my two dogs Athena and Artemis (shout out to any other Greek mythology lovers out there!), caring for my multitude of house plants, working on my next crafting project, or trying new recipes with my boyfriend.

DANIEL TAI

Hi everyone! My name is Daniel Tai, and I am a third-year medical student and one of the Health Fair Screening Co-Chairs. I am originally from sunny Southern California before graduating from UC Berkeley and coming to even sunnier Dallas, TX for medical school at UT Southwestern. In my free time I love spending time with friends and loved ones, trying new restaurants, and playing the occasional ultimate frisbee. I am excited to see how United to Serve can best serve our community this year!

ETHAN RABER

Hey everyone! I am Ethan Raber, an MS4 from Wichita Falls, Tx. I graduated from Midwestern State University with a bachelors in Biology. I am a soon to be Dad to two twin babies! My hobbies include powerlifting and going on walks with my wife and dog. I am excited to be one of the co-chairs for the Health Fair!

KAITLIN JONES

Hello everyone. My name is Kaitlin Jones and I am a 4th year medical student applying into Anesthesiology & Pain Management. I am SO excited to be one of the Health Fair Co-Chairs this year as this will be my third year with United to Serve. I have previously served as the Stroke Booth Coordinator as well as the Health Fair Junior Chair. When I am not busy applying for residency, you can find me exploring the dog parks of Dallas with my shetland sheepdog, Lilly or cooking yummy dinners with my fiancé, Chandler. Looking forward to a wonderful year of planning ahead.

Documentary

DEV BANERJI

Hello! Born and raised in Houston, TX, I am currently a medical student at UT Southwestern. Prior to coming to UTSW, I served in the Peace Corps in Thailand and China, which was the best experience of my life. This is my first year volunteering with United to Serve and I’m very excited to be one of the Documentary Committee Chairs!

JIM LIU

Hello everyone! My name is Jim Liu, one of the Documentary Committee Chairs. I been a booth coordinator for United to Serve’s Health Fair for two years, and I’m super excited to be part of this new committee. I am a fourth-year medical student applying to pediatrics, but in my free time you can find me hiking with my dog, mountain biking, and rooting for Duke in college basketball.

General & Volunteer Website

BENJAMIN WANG

Benjamin Wang is an MS4 and will be serving as the UTS Chair of the General Volunteer and Website Committee this coming year. He is originally from Dallas, but completed his undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at Rice University. He plans to apply Surgery this upcoming residency cycle. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball, lifting weights, and traveling.

Design Team

ISABEL MILLER

Isabel Miller is a fourth-year medical student applying to neurology. This is her third-year volunteering with United to Serve. She is excited to be returning this year as a Design Team chair. She is originally from Austin, TX. In her free time, she enjoys abstract and landscape painting, exploring new coffee shops, and playing with her cats.

JESS LOWE

Jess is a fourth year medical student applying into internal medicine. This is her third year volunteering with United to Serve/Carnaval de Salud. She is excited to return to the Design Team as the Co-Chair this year. Originally from Austin, TX, she enjoys crafting and interior design and exploring new restaurants and coffee shops around Dallas.

DAMI ALAO

Dami is a third year PhD candidate in the Biomedical Engineering Program and she is originally from Lagos, Nigeria. In her free time, Dami enjoys worshipping, reading, taking walks & watching movies. She is excited to serve as Volunteer Chair and looks forward to working alongside the United to Serve team!

JASPER HAN

Jasper Han is a third year medical student. This is his third year volunteering with United to Serve. He is excited to be returning to the volunteer team, and excited to be a part of this awesome fair this year. In his free time, he enjoys playing frisbee, watching short films, and hanging out with friends!

MEHUL MITTAL

Mehul is a first-year medical student who will be serving as Volunteer Chair this upcoming year. Mehul is originally from Ashburn, VA and completed majors in Finance and Business Honors at UT Austin. In his free time, he enjoys working out, watching Bollywood movies, and trying new restaurants. This is Mehul’s first year working as Volunteer Chair, and he looks forward to working alongside the United to Serve team!

POOJA ACHANTA

Pooja is a fourth-year medical student from Coppell, TX applying into Internal Medicine. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, doing Corepower Yoga, cooking vegetarian cuisines, and watching food-related TV shows. Pooja is excited to serve as Volunteer Chair and work with all the volunteers this year to make United to Serve a success!

Science Zone

ALEC MASON

Hello! I’m Alec, and I am a third-year medical student and one of the Science Zone chairs for United to Serve this year! I am originally from Bossier City, Louisiana, and I earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University in 2020. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, board games (the more complex the better), and exploring Dallas on foot!

NATALIA RODRIGUEZ-SOSA

Hola! I’m Natalia, currently 5th year graduate student in Neuroscience and proud Puerto Rican. Is my pleasure to co-chair of the Science Zone at the Carnaval de la Salud with United to Serve. I am passionate about mental health and the importance of sharing our struggles so we can learn and support each other. In my free time I love spending time with my fur companion, family, and friends. / Hola! Soy Natalia, estudiante graduada en mi 5to año en Neurosciencia y orgullosa de ser puertorriqueña. Es un placer co-presidir la Zona de Ciencias en el Carnaval de la Salud junto a United to Serve. Me apasiona el área de salud mental y la importancia de compartir nuestros obstáculos para aprender y apoyarnos mutuamente. En mi tiempo libre me encanta compartir con mi acompañante perruno, mi familia y amigos.

SHAM HAIDER

Sham is an MS4 here at UTSW. He is originally from the Northeast, but found his way to Texas to attend UT-Austin for undergrad. In his free time, he enjoys running, traveling, and watching soccer.

CRAIG KEMPER

Craig Kemper is an MS4 from Austin, TX who graduated with a Finance degree from Texas A&M in 2019. In his free time he enjoys running, cooking, and reading. He is thrilled to be returning as co-chair for the games committee. He is looking forward to bringing the community together through the activities his committee will create and lead at the fair.

POOJA KUMAR

Pooja Kumar is a second-year medical student and will be one of the Games Co-Chairs this year. She is originally from Houston, TX, but graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Neuroscience in 2021. In her free time, she loves to sing, bake lemon bars, explore new coffee shops, and run on Katy Trail. This is her first year working with United to Serve, and she is looking forward to bringing the community together for a spectacular event!

Arts & Crafts

EV KAKADIARIS

Ev is a MS4 at UT Southwestern. She grew up in Houston and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She spends her free time walking the Katy Trail and spending time with friends and family. She looks forward to working with everyone to put on yet another successful Carnaval de Salud!

NINA STEPHEN

My name is Nina Stephen, and I am a 2nd Year Medical Student at UT Southwestern Medical School. I am thrilled to be a part of the ARTS & CRAFT Committee for UNITED TO SERVE! And I am looking forward to connecting with our community and having FUN through Arts & Craft. AND YES, I LOVE ICE-CREAM!

AVID

DESTINI TEAGUE

Destini is a third-year medical student originally from Plano, TX and will be serving as AVID chair this year. She graduated from the University of Richmond (Go Spiders!) and loves dancing, hiking, and catching up with friends in her free time. Currently, her biggest dream is to adopt a dog after medical school graduation. She is excited to work with AVID students and the United to Serve team to make this year’s event educational and fun for our community!

JOSH PEEDIKAYIL

Josh Peedikayil is an MS4, who grew up outside of Houston, TX, applying into Internal Medicine this year. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, traveling, photography, and trying all the fun and new food that Dallas has to offer. In his third year volunteering with United to Serve, he is excited to co-chair the AVID team with Destini and work with all the students to make this fair great!

Healthy Living

AHMET TOPRAK

Ahmet Toprak is a first-year medical student and the chair of the Healthy Living Initiative. He is originally from Turkey but moved to Texas in 2014. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. In his free time, he enjoys socializing, weightlifting, boxing, programming, practicing archery, playing chess, and painting graffiti. He is excited to work with the community and hopes to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

Clinical Nutrition

HANNAH EBOAGU

Hannah Eboagu is a second-year Clinical Nutrition Student in the School of Health Professions. She was born and raised in the North Dallas area and loves it today! She did her undergraduate at Baylor University in Waco, TX and majored in Nutrition Sciences and Religion Studies. She spends her free time cooking (and eating), watching her favorite movies, taking walks with her friends, or hanging out with her dog- Beans! She is excited to apart of United to Serve as a Nutrition Chair!

BROOKE TAYLOR

Hi I’m Brooke! I am a MCN 2 student  with a passion for integrating approaches to medical treatment plans. I became interested in nutrition because prevention for most chronic diseases starts with what you eat and how much you move. I want to help people with their lifestyle and health by educating and utilizing a more well rounded approach of treatment. I am originally from Memphis, TN, and I love to cook and create in my free time! Post this program my goal is to pursue medical school.

TYLER BATES

Howdy! My name is Tyler Bates and I am a first year medical student. I grew up in Elliot, TX where my strong sense of community was grown that I would like to apply in my medical practice. I majored in biology at SHSU and was able to foster my hobbies of reading, hiking, and fishing. I look forward to serving y’all food as the Market Center Chair and getting to know my Dallas neighbors.

DYLAN BEAMS

Dylan Beams is a third-year medical student from Frisco, Texas, and will be serving as a Community and Publicity Chair for this year’s fair. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with biological sciences and psychology degrees before coming to UT Southwestern. You can find him spending time with his dog, making music, or trying out new local restaurants and coffee shops in his free time. He is thrilled to be a part of United to Serve and is looking forward to sharing the event with the community.

HUNTER PYLE

Hunter is a fourth-year medical student at UT Southwestern applying into Dermatology. He is excited to once again serve on the public relations team and get our community excited about healthy living and science. In his free time, Hunter loves to listen to French music and ride horses (not at the same time!).
